Every family loves to jump in the lake and your family will love Broken Bow Lake, a large, deep lake surrounded by mountains and forests. Almost all of the 180 miles of shoreline is public forest land making the view in any direction full of unspoiled and undeveloped natural beauty. Bring your own boat or rent almost any kind of watercraft you can imagine at Beavers Bend Marina. They offer everything from jet skis to ski boats to large house boats. Need something a little slower? Rent a paddle boat or bumper boat from Beavers Bend Land and Water Park (in Beavers Bend Resort Park.)

Amusements & Rides!

After a day on the lake take the kids to Hochatown Amusements for miniature golf, go-carts, kid's amusement rides, and snack bar. They are located nearby on US Highway 259.

If your family enjoys more physical activities get out into our thousands of acres of National Forest lands. Explore on foot, horseback, mountain bike or ATV!

Rainy Day Fun

Of course, we’d like to think it never rains on a vacation or weekend getaway, but if you find yourself there just catch a movie at the McCurtain County Cinema, go bowling at Collier Bowl, or lace up a pair of skates at the Rocket Roller Rink. Kids will also love seeing the animals at the Beavers Bend Wildlife Museum or the Forest Heritage Center and The Museum of the Red River houses one of the finest and most comprehensive Native American collections to be found anywhere.

Fun at Your Cabin

Don't forget the great family time you can enjoy back at your cabin. Some of the Hearpine Hollow cabins have unique features including children's play areas and swing sets, horsehoe pits and even a basketball court. (Not all features are available at all cabins.) Many cabins have the Ouachita National Forest nearby giving you direct access for hiking, biking and ATV riding. Sometimes the most fun you can have with your family is just outside your cabin door!
